The Long Sigh
Two short breaths in, one long breath out. The one-minute reset for when you walk through your front door carrying the whole day.
If you feel light-headed or uncomfortable, stop and breathe normally.
How it works
Most of us sigh without thinking when we put a heavy bag down. This is the same thing, done on purpose.
Steps
- Stand inside your front door. Keys still in your hand if you like.
- Breathe in through your nose. Then, without breathing out, take one more small sip of air on top.
- Let it all go through your mouth in a long, slow sigh. Let it make a sound if it wants to.
- Do that three times.
- Put your keys down. Say quietly, “I’m home.” Then carry on with your evening.
A gentle note: If you feel dizzy, stop and breathe normally. One sigh is enough on some days.
Even strength deserves somewhere to rest.
